CJ`s Beach House in Birch Bay

Excellent food. I was a bit concerned that one of the servers was not wearing her mask while taking orders and delivering food to people's tables. I also noticed that outdoor metal tables were not wiped down or sprayed between customers. Made me nervous to have eaten there.

We were seated immediately on our arrival and our drink order taken quickly also. Staff is very friendly and attentive. We ordered Crab Cakes for starters. Nice presentation on plate arrival. They were slightly on the oily side for my taste but the dish itself was flavorful with good texture and made me want the experience to last longer. I wolfed it with the Lemon Aioli sauce. Our entre came afterward. Lobster and Shrimp w/Mac N Cheese. I recommend this dish. Very good and a generous portion. I couldn't finish it though. Time for a carry-out. The restaurant has a good view of the bay and I'm sure the large patio area makes for a great outdoor dining experience.

Great food, excellent service. These folks are taking the greatest care of their guests in light of the COVID restrictions and requirements. Located across the street from the Bay. Both inside and outside dining available.

The most delicious burger I've ever had! (The service was pretty good, but not consistently good). Definitely having this again! Their fish burgers were also the best I've had.

The food here was excellent! Nice view and average priced. Burgers are ground in house and their tarter sauce is made in house too! Highly recomend bringing the family. Good choice of beers too.

Great bowl of clam chowder soup. The house made burger was excellent. Aged beef ground in house was very flavorful. One wonders why the french fries were out of a box and only so so.

Really nice food and servers were very knowledgeable of their products and kind to deal with. Definitely plan on going back to try out more menu options!😋

Food was good. Wait staff was lacking attentiveness. Had to ask for a refill on drinks. Wait staff never really checked on us after food was served. Presentation was awesome though.

We came at off hours for a quick bite. The food was good. Service was fast. However, I was shocked that our server was not wearing a face mask while serving us. Good spacing and outdoor seating for social distancing. it seemed like most of the wait staff were wearing mask. I’m not sure why she wasn’t.I didn’t complain or ask her to put a mask on. So I’m not sure how that would have gone down—but I don’t feel like you should have to ask.

I walked to the restaurant and people in the parking lot asked me if I was going to eat there. I said, "Hopefully!". They encouraged me with rave reviews of their meals. I ordered steamed clams and Long Beach Cocktail. The clams were some of the best I've had anywhere, thanks to their flavorful broth. The broth is salty with onions. The meal was served with toasted ciabatta bread (check me if I'm wrong). The bread was a perfect dipping tool for the amazing white wine butter broth. If I lived here, I would be there a few times a month!

I've eaten here quite a few times. The food is good but a bit overpriced. Service has been a mix of great and dismissive. My biggest complaint comes from the two times I've ordered to go. The portions were ridiculous. Very different from my dining in experience. I ordered a cup of chowder (literally three spoonfuls) and a chicken Caesar salad which was $21 and the size of the side salad instead of a dinner one (and chicken was dry). Not sure about going back. Definitely will never order to go again.

Best patio views of the water with awesome fish and chips!

We rode our scooters out to Birch Bay for a morning ride. Stopped at Cos for breakfast. Great service, great food and fantastic view of the bay. Go and you will have a great time.

The food, the service, was A#1. Between the 4 of us, we chose 3 different dinners from the Sunset Dinner Specials. The 4 course meals consisted of Salmon, steak, & ribs. The deserts we chose was bread pudding and chocolate mousse. To the chef, we say: absolutely marvelous! We wished we lived closer. You would be our choice often! I guess we will just have to return to the area. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!

Delicious food, good prices, and nice ambiance. The server was friendly and attentive. We started off with peel and eat shrimp, and fried calamari. Both were superb. The calimari had a very light batter, which was perfect. I then had the B.P. burger and fries. Also amazing.Bring friends, family, or a date. You won't be disappointed.

Wow. CJ's has the best clam chowder, and fish & chips. Sit outside if the weather is good, and take in the great views of the harbor. They have a large selection of beer on tap, and many blended drinks. Lots of parking available in front, and on the side.

We visited a few days earlier. Wanted to come back and we waited 30 minutes and no one came to get our drink order looked around and waitress walked right past us a couple of time we left. Very disappointed was really looking forward to the lobster mac and cheese. Maybe next time. :(

Best place on Birch Bay. A bit pricey but worth it for the good food and views. They have a deck, but bring a light ciat in case the wind is blowing. Fish is very good. There rib appetizer is also very good.

Great location for watching the bay while having a tropical drink along with fish and chips. Food was delicious! Prices were reasonable, but wear a hat as the outside tables have zero shade.

Ordered fish and chips. Staff was friendly, order was ready quickly. I took it to go, down on the beach. The coleslaw was not their strong suit today, but the fish was generously battered, fried to golden perfection with just the right amount of crispness. Inside, it was firm yet tender, buttery and flaky like a delicate pastry, seasoned to complement the reminiscent of ocean but not fishy flavor. And the fries was just as excellent. CJ's is definitely on my favorites list!

A little pricey but great food and friendly staff.

Great beach type seafood place. Nice spacing for covid. Had their calamari,clams and beer battered shrimp. Great on tap artisan beer and ciders. Husband had a steak salad.

Food was good but took forever and the server rarely checked on us. Had to go into the kitchen to ask for some dipping sauce.

Food was delicious! Great view. Good service. Comfortable seating in a casual beach atmosphere with outdoor tables as well. Well worth the stop in a fun area though the traffic through the strip was a bit jammed. On a busy, sunny, Sunday summer afternoon it was expected.

Was our first time to Birch Bay and was pleasantly surprised with our meal. The steak was excellent as was everything else... Our waiter did seem a bit slow and there was quite a bit of time between courses.... All in all a great experience though. Highly recommend it!

Great place! Definitely has the best fish and chips in town. Great people working here, very nice. Awesome place!

Food is good, portions are good, prices a touch high for basic fare like burgers, but in line for other prices we have seen in the area. Our server was able to deal with me and what I call humor so that is a big plus.

My "jack's Burger" was very over cooked and dry! The kids chicken strips had sat under heat lamp too long and were not edible, the crab cakes taste like a mayonnaise cake and while waiting 1.5 hours for our food we had to get up and ask the host for waters and to go boxes as well as find the server in the breezeway to pay the bill. We are locals and know it isn't always this bad.

Don’t waste your time going here I have given this place two chances now. Each time I have tried to eat here we are completely ignored by staff it is absurd. We wait to be seated and the staff continues on having loud conversation and pays absolutely no attention to us we waited 15 minutes to be seated and no one ever came although they clearly saw us waiting. This place is absolute trash don’t waste your time.

Great service. Beautiful setting by the beach. The road can be a bit loud. Food was really good. We had fish & chips. The fish was a bit oily and fries are seasoned, but good flavors. Reasonable price for the food, service, and setting.

Stopped by late Sunday lunch. The fish and chips were great. Service was good and drinks were kept full. Good view of Birch Bay.

A fun place! I wanted a restaurant where could look at the ocean, and this place was great. Food was good and the service was fine.

Went on Sunday, one of the First days open since covid. So so so Happy they are here and we got to relax in the restaurant. Food, drinks and atmosphere were excellent. Everyone was so happy to be there. All employees were literally busting their behinds and we really really appreciated it! THANK YOU for making everything seem “normal” again!

Chowder was very good. The mahi mahi tacos were super yummy! We ate outside and, being right by the beach, the sunset was amazing!!

Started the meal off with a tasty Boston clam chowder as i gazed out the large windows into the Pacific Ocean, then finished the meal off the satisfying "manly Sandwich made by a woman" it was a big plate packed with complimentary flavors. The seasoned fries could have been better and again i am disappointed that you can't find a good cup of sweet tea up north. But all in all i will be back soon before i leave to try their fish tacos

Boston chowder deserved 5 stars but the service was just a bummer. Took my mom for her birthday and waited while another table that came later ordered and served by the time we were getting our drinks. Definitely were gone by the time we got our food. I understand it gets super busy but I wish our server guy would have asked his co workers to jump in and help. We ended up just canceling our refills because it would take forever. Fries and fish were super greasy too, but definitely think food could have been awesome. Maybe next time😔
